Amver participating cruise ship saves 10 migrants

The Amver participating cruise ship Britannia rescued 10 African migrants off the coast of Spain on Monday, October 23, 2017.

According to multiple new reports, including the Daily Mail, crewmembers aboard the Britannia spotted 10 people struggling in an inflatable raft. A rescue helicopter was called to hoist the survivors who received medical care and food on the cruise ship.

The ship, on a voyage back to the United Kingdom from Spain, transferred the survivors to Spanish Coast Guard authorities. The Britannia enrolled in Amver on March 23, 2015 and has earned two Amver participation awards.
